Giancoli physics solutions
At Giancoli Answers we put great effort into making sure that our solutions are clear and thorough. The videos on Giancoli Answers are created by an expert, practicing teacher with years of physics teaching experience. Not only do you get answers, but you also see the best processes and techniques for solving questions that you can use to improve your in-class marks. For the best results, make sure you give questions a good try before looking at the answers here. Check out the blog to see what's new at Giancoli Answers.
Currently I'm working on finishing some of the partially completed chapters (7,9,18, and 19) so stay tuned (join our newsletter!) for the announcement of their release.
Please don't hesitate to leave comments after videos if you have questions about a specific problem, have suggestions that could improve the video, or just want to leave feedback. We always like to hear from you. Also make a habit of voting on solutions so you can help other users find the best content, and as a way to give quick feedback.
You will need either the 6th Edition or 5th Edition of the algebra based Giancoli physics textbook to follow the solutions.
Many problems in the 6th Edition are the same as the 5th Edition problems, except for minor changes in some numbers. The videos are made with 6th Edition numbers in the beginning, but at the end, 5th Edition values are substituted so you can see the exact answers for both versions. The 6th Edition solutions work for both the "updated" 6th Edition, and the original 6th Edition since the end of chapter problems are exactly the same in these two versions of the textbook.
We are constantly adding new content, so please enter your email at the bottom of this page to get updates when we add new chapters. You might find the the answers to the one you're working on!
Please check out the website rebuild I completed for the UBC Physics department: Physics Teaching for the 21st Century. Also, I created three videos showing how to use a spreadsheet to simulate data with error, make a best fit line visually, and use chi-square analysis to fit data.
