Why couldn't I use the Vo peak value to solve for the peak current? Because its an AC circuit? My instinct was to use the answer to a to solve for b.

Hi prologue, I just have an instinct not to use my own answers for later calculations since if part a) is wrong, that mistake will also affect part b). Furthermore, there's a chance that part b) might give a hint that part a) is wrong when they're calculated independently.
