Hi jtorres89, thanks for your question. Indeed, you got it, the equations are the same. The term y0 = 0 so I didn't bother writing that term, and -g in your expression is 'a_y' as I wrote it.

Just out of curiosity, does the formula you used for the first part of the problem to find the time equate to the formula yf=y0+vy0t-1/2gt^2?
