This is Giancoli Answers with Mr. Dychko. A 28-gram sparrow moving at 8.4 meters per second has a magnitude equal to mass times well, speed in this case because it's only the magnitude of the momentum that we are asked for normally, you would say velocity here in which case you would have a vector but in this case, you are just asking what's the magnitude of the momentum so we just need the speed and the mass multiplying together and you get 0.24 kilogram meters per second of momentum.
