This is Giancoli Answers with Mr. Dychko. Wave speed is frequency times his wavelength. Or we can write, since the frequency is 1 over period, we can write this as wavelength divided by period. The distance between crests is the wavelength and that's 7 meters. And the time between crests the period and that's 3 seconds. So, 7 over 3 is 2.3 meters per second.
