This is Giancoli answers with Mr. Dychko. 16 bit number has 65536 different possibilities to the power of sixteen and a twenty four bit number has two to the power 24 possibilities which is 16777216. And if you have three sub pixels, red and green and blue pixel RGB, and each pixel has an 8 bit depth so that's, that's gonna be two to the power of eight times two to the power of eight times two to the power of eight for a total of two to the power of 24 possibilities which is the answer for Part B.
