This is Giancoli Answers with Mr. Dychko. Potential difference between two points is the negative of the electric field between them divided by the distance between those two points. We can divide both sides by the electric field to solve for the distance. We don't really care about the negative sign here so we just take the absolute value. We have 45 volts divided by electric field of 1,900 volts per meter. You get about 24 millimeters.
